Sacrament of Holy Matrimony
Welcome to the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony
Holy Matrimony is a sacred covenant, a vocation, and a sacrament that celebrates the union of a man and a woman in a lifelong commitment of faithful love. Within the Catholic Church, marriage is more than a legal contract; it is a God-given vocation and a profound sign of Christ’s love for the Church. Through this sacrament, couples are given the grace to love each other with the love with which Christ has loved His Church. The journey of marriage is one of mutual self-giving, growth, and joy in the shared life of husband and wife.
The Significance of Matrimony:
A Covenant of Love: Matrimony is a covenant that mirrors the relationship between Christ and His Church—a bond of love, fidelity, and mutual support.
